She currently works from her studio in Leeds, UK run by East Street Arts.

ABOUT

Whilst using glass as her main medium Griet's work is undergoing a clear shift. Collaborations and an interest in combining art and science, installations as opposed to single pieces of work and sound explorations are very much part of her current practice.
The content of the work however remains a constant, a keen interest in the experience of spaces, both inside and outside the body: seen and unseen. She currently works from her studio in Leeds, UK run by East Street Arts.

Griet gained her MA in Glass at the University of Sunderland, based at the National Glass Center, Sunderland, UK. There she was able to experiment and explore the characteristics of glass and what they could mean to her practice in the company of many national and international artists.

She has gone on to exhibit at the International Glass Biennale in Stourbridge, has added her piece ‘Group’ to an important glass collection in the North East, and was asked to submit a piece for the SOFA exhibition in New York in April 2009. More recently she is expanding her work through collaborations.

It was as though he had grasped time itself, made it stand still, and then mad it run again, over and over.
